German scientists believe that cocoa products are more effective than tea in reducing high blood pressure. However, they also suggest that people are best to eat low-sugar dark chocolate, because ordinary chocolate is rich in sugar and fat, and also very high in calories. These are the enemies of hypertensive patients.
According to the findings of German scientists, foods rich in cocoa, such as chocolate, can help people lower blood pressure, but drinking green or black tea cannot achieve similar effects. People have long believed that drinking tea has the effect of lowering blood pressure, but the research of German scientists has subverted this concept.
This research result was completed by Professor Dirk Tapot of the University of Cologne, Germany. His monograph was published in the latest issue of the American Journal of Internal Medicine, which is the official journal of the American Medical Association.
